Who We Are
A Distinct Identity
Adaptive Communities Inc, is a non-profit social activity center for adults with special needs, ages 18 to 64 years old. Our hours are 8:30 AM-4:00 PM Monday-Friday. We provide a safe, fun setting to hang out, learn life skills, and enhance the quality of life for our members. We help our members establish healthy relationships and boost their confidence by providing activities within our facility as well as community. These activities and classes have ranged from learning our community laws to visiting the Humane Society after we made adopt me bandannas for pets in need.

Getting to know us!
Adaptive Communities was created by Kaie Normand (right) and opened in January 8, 2018. Katie has a background in sign language interpreter and working with CESA 9 as well as the Wausau School District. Anissa (left) has a teaching degree from UWSP for special education and taught in the school district for two years. Between the two ladies they have been working with students and adults with special needs for over ten years. It is safe to say that creating Adaptive Communities was the perfect goal for these two ladies.

Sue showing us how to make Strawberry Shortcake
Adaptive Communities cooks a meal everyday and Sue showed us how helpful pampered chef tools can make meal planning.
Proceeds will help plan for meals at Adaptive Communities
The proceeds that are made from the Pampered Chef party will go towards learning how to make more meals with our members until they are comfortable to make them on our own independently.
